Some Parting Words

Here are some excerpts from this book:

My parting words today are about the various seasons of life we go through. Each season of life has its joys and its difficulties. It is important to thank God and praise Him through the joys of life and enjoy those precious times with friends and loved ones and with the Lord.

But it is also important what we do with the difficult times. Those times can be used for great benefit in your relationship with the Lord as you praise and thank Him through those times too, trusting that He will use them for your good. Then you will become an "overcomer."

To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. - Revelation 2:7

Another important word I want to share with you today is this: start your day, every day, by drawing near to God. Greet Him first thing in the morning (I say good morning, Heavenly Father, good morning, Lord Jesus, good morning, Holy Spirit).

Then keep drawing near to Him throughout the day and ask His guidance and ask His advice on what you do and decisions you make. Talk to Him as your best Friend, for that is truly who He is. Take communion each morning and "remember Him."

As you do this daily it accumulates and grows into a deep, trusting, and abiding wonderful friendship with the Lord. When you are old you will understand and see how important this has been, and be very grateful for it.

Come near to God and he will come near to you. - James 4:8
